Clinical Psychology
& Human Connection in the AI Era

How We Work

Our work addresses the challenges in Human Relationships and AI-related phenomena:
AI/Screen-addiction, Synthetic Attachment, the Digital Split, and Relational Triangles.

There is a growing gap between who we are online and who we are in real human relationships: scrolling that never quite satisfies, children who turn to devices before people, or relationships that feel easier to maintain through screens than face-to-face, mediated by an invisible third party: the phone or the AI chatbot.

AI/Screen Addiction, Digital Compulsion & AI-Informed Identity

AI/Screen addiction has become not just a behavior, but a central force reshaping how adults and adolescents relate, regulate, and experience themselves, as well as how they connect with one another. Over time, it may distort real connection, alter our identity, reduce tolerance for relational friction, and increase anxiety in everyday life.

Parenting Support:
How to Raise AI-Native Children

AI-native environments are fundamentally reshaping how children develop today, influencing how they regulate, seek connection, and experience themselves. Over time, they reduce tolerance for frustration, disrupt the ability to sit with discomfort, and weaken a child’s sense of security in real relationships.
We help parents support children in developing discernment, self-regulation & inner direction.

Rebuilding Couple Intimacy: Navigating Relational Triangles

Relational triangles, both real and digital, occur when relationships are stretched between two worlds: the partner in front of us, and the real or digital “thirds.” Algorithms, parasocial bonds, AI companions, and social and relational systems make it harder to stay present, navigate conflict, and repair after rupture. At that point disconnection and emotional distance often take hold.

Meet Dr. Élena Bagourdi
MA, PhD, CCTPI-II

Dr. Élena Bagourdi is a clinical psychologist and therapist working at the intersection of human attachment, trauma, and the rapidly evolving world of digital and AI‑mediated connection.

For over two decades, she has observed how people adapt across relationships, becoming different versions of themselves: with partners, families, and increasingly within digital environments.

Her work examines how these new “mirrors”,  social media, algorithms, and artificial intelligence, are reshaping not only how we regulate emotion, but how we experience identity, belonging, and connection itself.

Rather than framing these patterns as simple addiction, she understands them as adaptive responses within a shifting relational landscape, widening what she describes as the Digital Split: the growing divide between our online and offline selves.

"Working with Dr. Élena was the first time someone actually understood what was happening with me. I kept minimizing my endless scrolling and attachment to AI chatbots. I thought it was just a bad habit or lack of discipline. She helped me see what part it was playing in my life and substitute it with healthier behaviors."

In Their Words

"My son kept disappearing into his online friends and AI platforms. He seemed more connected to the screen than to anyone in our family. I had no idea how to reach him without constant fights or guilt. Dr. Élena helped me understand what his nervous system needed and how to support him with practical tools."

James T.

“I felt completely stuck in my marriage. It was as if there was this invisible third party, the phone, the AI. Connecting to my partner felt so hard. Dr Elena helped me see how my own attach-ment patterns were playing out, and how tech was amplifying existing disconnection on both sides. The work was uncomfortable at times, but it brought a level of honesty and repair we hadn’t had in years.”

Speaking

Artificial intelligence and digital platforms are not only changing how we work. They are reshaping how we relate to one another.

From classrooms to leadership teams, many institutions are beginning to notice the subtle effects of digital life on attention, identity, belonging, and the sense of authentic connection that holds teams and communities together.

Dr. Élena works with schools, healthcare organizations, and leadership teams seeking thoughtful ways to navigate these shifts while preserving the relational foundations that allow people and communities to thrive.
